Brent Petersen

Born and raised in Cape Town, completing his community service year in Piet Retief in 2016, Brent gave up life by the ocean for the natural wonders of the Lowveld.  He completed his BSc Physiotherapy in 2015 at the University of the Western Cape (UWC). He returned to UWC to complete his MSc Physiotherapy in 2023, focusing on how pain beliefs influence participation in daily activities. During that time, he also completed his Certificate in Pain (Train Pain Academy), which taught him to address complex conditions and medically unexplained symptoms. He believes physiotherapy is a continuous process to maintain optimal health and function. He works against the common idea of ‘it’s a normal symptom’ and finds answers to what many believe as ‘incurable diseases’ or ‘syndromes’. His special interests are persistent pain and symptoms relating to the musculoskeletal system, hormone disorders, neurology and mental health, sleep difficulty, autoimmune disorders, cancer, and metabolic and energy production disorders.

He wants people to have the tools and knowledge to be the best chief medical officer for their health at every stage of their life. If he is not running on the road or in the mountains, you will find him in the gym exploring new ways to build more muscle faster.

All his other spare time is spent with friends, learning about Biohacking and natural methods to optimise function and performance or in Mindfulness Practice. Brent believes in using integrative and holistic approaches to achieve your health goals, remedy the odd symptom or complete your next endurance event.

It is time to be your best today and forever.
